Metropolitan Local Masters Swimming Committee (MLMSC) respects and protects the privacy of our members and users of this web site. Our privacy policy is set forth below.

What Information We Collect and How We Collect It

When you join MLMSC you also join United States Masters Swimming (USMS). We ask that you provide personal information, including your name, gender, address, telephone number and birth date. This information is collected either by your Club/Team, which then forwards it to our Registrar, or by the Registrar directly. Our Registrar forwards this information to USMS, in accordance with USMS rules and by-laws and also compiles a data base from this information. The data base is required so that we can confirm registration for insurance purposes and so that we can assemble and compile USMS swimming records. The privacy policy of USMS is set forth on its web site (http://www.usms.org). MLMSC is not responsible for the privacy policies of its member Clubs/Teams.

We may provide lists or mailing labels with the names and addresses of those members who have not indicated an e-mail address to directors of USMS sanctioned events, upon their request, for the purpose of allowing mailing of meet information and entry forms. We may also provide statistical compilations of demographic information relating to our members (such as ages, occupations or education) to sponsors or prospective sponsors or in connection with marketing analyses, but we will not provide any personal identifying information, such as names, postal addresses or e-mail addresses, for any commercial purpose.

On this web site (http://www.metroswim.org), we provide some personal identifying information for LMSC Officers and designated team contacts. Personal information for local officers or contact persons is provided to enable USMS members to contact them regarding USMS, MLMSC or team business and will be removed upon their request. Finally, if you enter and compete in swim meets, results may be posted on this web site and may be provided to USMS, to other web sites or to swimming-related publications, posting or publishing, and those results may include publication of personal information such as your age or team affiliation.

At this time, we do not use "cookies" or collect personal information on our web site. This web site, however, contains links to other web sites that may do so. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of those web sites.
