Chlorine Chronicles E-news 11/03/05 Welcome to the Chlorine Chronicle, the pertinent but irregular electronic newsletter of the Metropolitan LMSC. In this issue: 1 2006 Registration has now begun While 2005 USMS registration does not expire until 12/31/05, 2006 registration began on November 1st. No registration forms were mailed out to the membership this year, so please download one off the website ( http://www.metroswim.org). If you have trouble downloading the form or have other registration-related problems, drop a note to Maria Anderson, your humble Registrar, at metroreg@gmail.com. Please remember to write neatly and include a current email address on all registration forms. Incomplete and/or unsigned forms will be returned. Also, registrations submitted on old (2004 or 2005) forms for 2006 will be returned. The annual membership meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 20th at 2 pm (at the conclusion of the meet) at Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow. A meeting notice was mailed to all registered swimmers over the last few days. Meets will be held on November 20th (entries must be received by 11/11) and December 4th at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. These will both be short-course meter meets. Check out the events calendar at http://www.metroswim.org for details and other event listings. Toyota Masters Swim Clinic at Asphalt Green Hosted by Asphalt Green and featuring Olympians Rowdy Gaines and Dara Torres, this promises to be one of the best Masters events of the season as Rowdy and Dara will host a two-hour clinic for masters swimmers. To Register email ewalton@asphaltgreen.org and use the subject "I Wanna Swim". No Charge to enter. Immediately following the clinic, Asphalt Green will host the 5th Annual Swim for the Future from 6:00-8:00 pm . This fundraiser honors the legacy of two of our Masters Swimmers who lost their lives on 9/11. A swim-a-thon, family swim and games area and silent auction are set up to raise funds to help local kids achieve success in the swimming pool. Go to (http://www.swimforthefuture.com) to get more information and/or to donate. A $25 suggested donation is asked for at the door. Be on the look out for stylish logo caps, shirts and other swim gear coming to a Metro LMSC location near you. The line of fashionable gear will be just the thing for the Masters Swimmer in your life!
