Opening Day(s) are Upon Us
Sure, there is still snow on the field at Yankee Stadium, but when the calendar turns to February it is time to think about diving into a nice, warm (we hope) pool and swimming faster than Randy Johnson's mothe's fastball. Meet information for the following events can be found on the Metro LMSC website (www.metroswim.org)

2/12 Valentine's Meet at US Merchant Marine Academy
3/13 SC Yard Meet at Lehman College*
4/17 SC Yard Meet in Manhattan
4/30 SC Yard Meet in Yonkers

Winter Meetings
The Metro LMSC Board will meet after the conclusion of the swim meet on March 13th at Lehman College. An agenda will be forthcoming. All board members and team reps should plan on attending.

There will be an URGENT need for volunteer timers at the 3/13 meet at Lehman College. There is no host team for this meet, so please consider helping to time to keep the meet moving.

Cap Day(s)
Metro swimming caps will be on sale at most, if not all, of the upcoming meets for $1 each. Hey, you can?t beat that price for practice caps. Cheaper than ? of a hotdog at Yankee Stadium and it doesn?t give you indigestion!

Tainted Records
No, the steroid controversy has not yet tainted the Metro LMSC. But, our fearless LMSC Chair has been working to compile LMSC records and tells this reporter to expect them on the Metro LMSC web site sometime after pitchers & catchers report, but before the Mets fall out of the playoff race (like, say, April 1st.)
