Welcome to a Special Edition of the Chlorine Chronicles, the occasional electronic newsletter of the Metropolitan LMSC.

The holiday season is upon us! I want to introduce myself as your new President of Metro LMSC. For those of you who attended our annual meeting on November 24th, I thank you for coming and voicing your concerns. Besides electing me as your new President, you also elected Steve Newman as Vice-President and Vanessa Teitelbaum as Treasurer. We have one open position (Secretary) and I'm hoping someone steps forward for that position in the near future. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested.

I want to thank Conrad Johnson for doing a great job as President for the past few years.

For those you who are not aware, we have a discussion forum on the USMS web site. This is a great place to voice your concerns and let us know your ideas. Signing up is easy and takes about 2 minutes. Surf on over to:

I want to remind everyone to submit their 2003 USMS registration applications ASAP. Swimmers may NOT participate in Masters swim programs and do NOT have USMS insurance if they don't maintain their USMS registration. The new 2003 form can be downloaded from www.metroswim.org.

The November 24, 2002 SCM Fall Classic results are posted. Thanks to Lisa Baumann for running another excellent meet.

Upcoming swim meets on the event calendar include: Sat & Sun, Dec 7-8 Colonies Zone SCM Champs at Rutgers University; Fri-Sun, Dec 13-15 SCM Masters Swim Meet at Asphalt Green in Manhattan; upcoming 2003 events include Sunday, Jan 26 SCY Winter Blitz Meet at Goodwill Games Pool and Saturday Feb 15 SCY Valentines Day Meet at Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy on Long Island. Information on the annual One Hour swim will be posted soon.

In this modern age of the internet and spam, I just want to remind everyone that if you change your email address, please let our Registrar (Maria Doelger: metroreg@hotmail.com) know. The same goes for street address info. You have my assurance that we will NEVER give your email address to anyone other than meet directors (who are never allowed to give them to anyone else).
