Asphalt Green Masters head coach, Mike Ritter, has offered to coordinate Metro relays and assist swimmers in attendance without a coach at the meet with warm-ups, taking splits, etc. See Mike at the meet (or send him an e-mail at tex@ritterdesign.com) if you would like to swim on relays or need assistance. ** Results from the April 28 Spring Fling SCY Meet have been posted on the Metro LMSC website at http://www.metroswim.org. These include a new national record set by Karen Einsidler of Metro Masters/Asphalt Green in the Women's 45-49 200 yard Backstroke in a time of 2:18.60 - CONGRATULATIONS!

** The Meet Director's Toolbox section on the Metro LMSC website has been expanded to include forms (sanction application & guideline acknowledgment), suggested warm-up procedures, the 2002 USMS Rule Book, the revised USMS Open Water Manual, and more. SPECIAL NOTE: Event directors who will be conducting open water swim events this summer, be very sure to read and follow guidelines, requirements and rules found in the USMS Open Water Manual.

** AquaFit Masters will be conducting MULTI-STROKE CLINICS throughout this summer at the Nassau County Aquatics Center (start date Sunday, June 2; finish date Thursday, August 29). Information and enrollment forms will be posted on the AquaFit website at http://www.aquafitmasters.com on Wednesday, May 15. You may contact the Program Director, Lisa Baumann, via e-mail at aquafitinc@aol.com or by telephone at 516-294-7946 for further information and/or to be added to the mailing list. Please note that stroke clinic participants must be currently registered with USMS.

** Attention Coaches: The American Swim Coaches Association is hosting its annual World Clinic in Las Vegas from September 2-8, 2002. Nine of the top Masters coaches in the country are scheduled to give presentations on Masters coaching and team building on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8. The clinic is an outstanding opportunity for current coaches to enhance their knowledge of Masters coaching, while potential Masters coaches can learn more about the trade. To enhance participation, USMS is paying the registration fee ($165 value) for the first 20 Masters coaches to apply. While at the clinic, you can benefit as well from hearing from some of the top age-group and college coaches in the country.
